Returns and Refunds for Dry Goods
To help minimize the need for returns we encourage you to ask questions. At The Salty Dog Coral Cove we are long time hobbyist trying to make the reefing community a better place. For any questions, please contact us either through email at support@saltydogcoral.com or our chat in the lower right corner of your screen. We check messages regularly and will be happy to assist you in making the best decisions about your purchase.

Although we work hard to help you make the best purchase for you, we also understand that returns are sometimes unavoidable. We also work hard to make this process as easy and painless as possible.

The Salty Dog Coral Cove is happy to accept returns of new products in their original packaging within 90 days of the original purchase date for a full refund. During the first 45 days, the refund can be issued as either a refund to your original form of payment or as a store credit. After that, all refunds will only be issues as a store credit. All returns must be requested and pre-approved by email at support@saltydogcoral.com. Once your return has been approved you will be provided with a return authorization number (RAN), this number must be clearly displayed on the outside of the return shipping box. All returns can be subject to shipping and restocking fees. To qualify for a return, the following criteria must be met:

All items must be unused, unopened, in their original packaging, and in resalable condition.

Returns must be shipped back fully insured and properly packaged. Items should never be shipped back in just their product packaging.

Customer is responsible for return shipping cost.​​

Returns are not accepted for:

Aquariums, foods, sand, salt, and rock.

Items with an expiration date 45 days or less after the purchase date.

Items that appears to have been used or exposed to water.

Items with missing, altered, or damaged packing material including but not limited to accessories, manuals, and warranty cards.

Special order, drop ship, clearance, or open box items.

Additional information regarding returns and refunds:​​

Shipping and handling fees are nonrefundable unless the merchandise was shipped in error.

Gift cards and store credit are nonrefundable.

Order cannot be cancelled after they have been shipped.

Refused orders are subject to an automatic 25% restocking fee plus all related return freight charges.

Orders cannot be canceled or refused due to delays in shipping.

In the event that your return causes your total invoice amount to fall below the amount that qualifies for free shipping, the shipping charges associated with the original shipment may be deducted from your refund.
Returns and Refunds for Livestock
Purchases on all livestock are final. The Salty Dog Coral Cove does not accept any returns for livestock purchases. In the rare event you need to cancel an order before a shipping label has been created please contact us ASAP at support@saltydogcoral.com. If a refund is offered, you have two option:

A 100% store credit that expires 12 months from the original purchase date.

A refund to the original form of payment minus a 20% restocking fee.
Warranties and Manufacturer Defects
The Salty Dog Coral Cove is not liable for manufacturer defects. Please contact the manufacturer directly to help resolve these issues. If you need help getting the correct contact information for a given manufacturer we will be happy to help.
Shipping Damage
Although it does not happen very often, we understand that on occasion items will be damaged during the shipping process. We are dedicated to working with you to make this right and replace the damaged items. All damage claims must be made by e-mail within 72 hours of delivery. Please follow the following steps to initiate the process.

Open all packages and inspect all items for damage immediately upon arrival.

Please take detailed photographs of all damaged items including the damaged shipping box. Keep the original shipping boxes, packing, and damaged items until you are told it is safe to discard these items. On occasion, the shipping company may want to look at these items as part of the claim.

E-mail us at support@saltydogcoral.com to initiate a claim. All claims will be issued a Damaged Item Claim Number (DIC).

We will initiate the claim process with the shipping company. Once this is process is started we will ship a replacement item.
